Preparing to travel to Puerto Penasco tomorrow to work on a friend's freshwater pressure system, and tail the wench while he's up the mast.

The sun was shining, winds out of the north 10-15 knots, temperature in the 60’s, near the end of the season - so I went sailing.
Motored out of the marine, set the sails, rounded Red “2” buoy, engaged the autopilot in "wind" mode, sailed across the bay, tacked, engaged the autopilot, and sailed back - 19.5 nautical miles. There were almost no other boats on the water.

Spent Fri, Sat, Sun and home Mon at Cayo Costa island. Temps in the mid 80's for the high in the 60's for the low, with a light breeze. Great sleeping weather. Spent 2 days on the beach reading. Did I mention the beach is 7 miles long and we only saw one person in 2 days. Life is good.

Spend the weekend working on my new boat. Practicing stepping the mast and rigging her in the drive way.
Went to boat Friday, Saturday morning sailed to N side of Cat Island, then east to Ship Island, along the north side of it to East Ship. Anchored for the night, sailed back to Long Beach Harbor beginning daylight Sunday morning. Caught a couple of spanish mackeral trolling back. Wife came down, another night on boat, then Monday sailed back to N side of Cat Island. Great weekend of sailing. Sunny, warm during the day, cool mid 60 degrees at night had me reaching for covers. Made right at 50nm of sailing this weekend! Perfect time of year in south Mississippi.
I missed Columbus Day but hopefully I will go sailing today in the chesapeake. I doubt I'll find a new world but I'll be looking none the less
I could be embarrassingly wrong (as I normally am) but is that quote a veiled reference to a particular Bing Crosby movie?
I'm glad I didn't reveal the movie, then. Y'all would have ragged me unmercifully.
