Hi John, I just joined this forum & saw your message. I bought a 1978 7.6 this July & have just started sailing it. Since this is my first sailboat, I guess I don't have anything to compare it with. I will say that I'm not too crazy about the outboard motor setup. The PO bolted a 2x8 board across the transom opening in order to raise the motor because he thought it sat too close to the water when the boat heeled to port. He added an adjustable bracket which makes operating the motor awkward. Otherwise, the boat sails well and I'm enjoying my new hobby.

Just purchased one in Michigan

Just got the title work back in Sep. We hav to completely "gut" the inside. A previous owner let the cabin hatch go missing for a couple of winters. Also a Racoon did some business. We are going to start placeing new liners in the spring and have installed new windows and sealer. Lots of leaks from deck hardware. I wonder if we can get it ready for 2004. Wish me luck. I will see you any info that I can. Bob
