They put on PFDs and then didn’t look where they were going.

I was out on the Bay today - only heard the USCG side of the discussion on channel 16. All I can say is, wow!

Looks like a fishing boat that takes people on day trips.
Really fortunate that it hit the boat abeam just aft of the mast. If it would have been a bit more aft, there probably would have been injuries; and, it probably would have sunk the J/Boat.

Amazing that no one was hurt.

As soon as you call the USCG, they instruct everyone on board to put on their PFD's. ;^))))

Also, very lucky the mast didn't come down!

Luck of where the fishing boat hit just aft of the mast: The collision just took-out the boom and snaped it at the goosneck, I'd guess.

A: Typically, a motorboat gives way to a sailboat if the passengers are not engaged in fishing at the time or the boat is otherwise unable to move.
