I don't think I've ever heard of a cold temp warning on any engine. Even if you take the thermostate compleatly out the engine still warms up to over 100 deg F.
How do you know it was a cold temp warining?
some speed sensors also have a SEA water temp sensor. You can set it to alarm for both cold and hot water.
Your speed sensor manual can tell you how to turn the alarm off.
Just to be clear, what panel or instrument was this cold water alarm coming from? And were there any other anomalies at the same time? What was the make and model of the device that was producing the alarm?
