Sorry but i lied, way too cold to sail but here are a couple of photos from flying today, around my local area. You can clearly see some the the ledges we like to avoid, Also Fort Popham , Cundy`s Harbour and Lombos Hole.

Was tempted to buy a house in Cundy's once. Really nice spot. Already had a mortgage and a boat though, so will have to sail up there instead.

This is our home mooring field. Falmouth, ME. There are now a LOT more boats, about 1300+...

In the upper left of this photo you can see cove and a beach (bright yellow-ish left side of cove) and a few boats moored off it. That is our home mooring in front of where we live (Broad Cove). Most of the time the boat is in the big mooring field but during storms she moves up to the storm mooring....

Google Earth snapped a summer time photo of the neighborhood and home mooring field..:D

Cundy`s Harbor is nice because you have the Basin just slightly further up the New Meadows river, a tight entrance that opens up into a large and safe enclosed area.

My wife and I just purchased some land in Phippsburg, ME, across the New Meadows River from Cundy's Harbor. Protected by Bear and Malaga Island. Love the area. Nice pics.

My mother lives in Cundy's

I haven't had a chance to my boat up there to go sailing yet.

Malaga Island, there is a sad bit of Maine history there, nothing to be proud of.

You are correct there ifmdalvey. I was shocked and horrified to learn the history of Malaga Island. Not the State Of Maine's finest hour.

We tried to land on Malaga once but hit something submerged and went on our way. There is a lot of sad history there. Some folks refer to the descendants as Malaga nig****s. How sad is THAT! I once said to my son, "Can you imagine not being able to play with Derrick or Brian, just because of their skin?". Sad. But, this type of thing has happened all over the country and is still happening today.

Just north you'll find this unhappy girl.

Another couple of miles north east you'll find The Basin. Great place to sleep like a baby. You can almost anchor with a frying pan.

Coming into Malaga from the SW, i also hit an uncharted rock, luckily was taking it fairly slow at the time, that wreck is around the North end and there is anchoring room in that cove, i have yet to step ashore on Malaga, hopefully this year.

That mast ( fishing boat? ) is no longer sticking out of the water. Not sure if it corroded and fell off or was removed. The wreck below is still there I believe. Also a wreck on chart on the south east side of Malaga, but don't know anything about that one.
