It appears that the control module on my A/B Cold machine is toast. It's at least a 10 yr old machine that still uses Freon, so rather than buying a control mod. for this unit, I think the way to go is to buy a new unit. My question is do I want the Cold Machine or the Super Cold Machine ? In 3 years or so I plan to take this boat to the Carribean . If I go for the Super, do I need to add another through hull to use the unit, or can the unit be used with air coolong for now and then at the next haul-out add the water cooling option? Thanks Craig Steinkraus "Wings" C38 #280

You can...

As I understand the AB machines, you can run the Supercold on air, and pipe in the water later. When I put mine in last year, I posted a number of questions on their web site, and they were very responsive. I suggest you check out thier web site and ask any questions there. Steve

water cooling

Craig, the SuperCold Machine is always air cooled. It has the provision to be water cooled, which can be added at anytime. Once you add it, the pump is switchable on/off.
