Coiling a line!!

Got it this time. Thanks for your patience. Where I was going wrong was wrapping - coiling around - the figure 8s before tieing them off to my cleat. If I just tie them off without wrapping, problem goes away.Dick

Glad it all worked out! Almost any time coils are introduced, ashols are going to happen. Hopfully nobody will be 'coiling' lines anymore.I read a post recently from a guy who showed a picture of his mainsheet all twisted. He would take out the twist, and it would come right back again and he couldn't figure out 'why'. I suggested to him that he was probably coiling his mainsheet when he was done sailing, and those coils were reintroducing the twist.
