That any fish stocks can withstand the pressures of modern fishing techniques. Large fast boats, huge nets, sophisticated electronics and spotter planes. Doesn't give a dumb fish that hasn't changed in hundreds of years much of a chance. As one species is fished out, the fisher folks just move on to the next most desirable species.

The stocks went way down 5 years ago, but have come back. So now we will know them out again. Oh well.
