I'm looking to source a well made cockpit table for my 1986 Hunter 285. Used? Advice on new designs and material? Wood vs plastic? Thanks. Steve

Have you looked in the website parts store? They sell folding tables with leaves that provide the kind of clearance you want in a small cockpit. With teak you should be taking it home each winter for maintenance.

Not too hard to make one. I made one from some trex boards from Lowes. A little heavy and would rather have used plastic lumber 3/4 thick if I could find it. Then some hardware like screws and clamps to mount it. Probably less than a hundred to make one.

I cut this out of scrap plywood years ago, just to see if it would work. If it did, I planned to build one out of some better material.

That was 5 or 6 years ago,...

I never finished it or anything and it works slick. Just two separate pieces; plywood cut outs slide over binnacle guard - leg fits inside a cleat on the bottom.

Takes up almost no space in a locker and assembles faster than you can describe it. We throw a table cloth over it these days(it's had so much use it's pretty stained). Never collapsed.

Probably sell it with the boat one day. Wanna see my swim ladder? :)

I read an article about a guy that picked up an old coffee table at the dump and used that rock maple for the table and swing-out support. Turned our really nice.

Found a new teak one with drink holders on ebay for cheap. It was 4 years ago so I'm sorry I don't remember more but a search there should turn them up.

Eude from Defender.
Not near the price of Edson. Not solid teak. I bought the Nordic Star 4 years ago. It is gorgeous.
Sorry, I don't have a picture.
