Cockpit speaker loations

Looking at the new Hunter models with the stainless arch, I was wondering where the cockpit stereo speakers would be mounted. On my current boat ('91 h28) I have the cockpit speakers mounted in the aft lazerets pointing forward. In the newer boats the lazerets are concave rather than flat on the section facing forward and would make mounting speaker difficult (I want to use the Bose and they require about 9" of flat or slightly concave/convex surface to mount). So the big question is where have you all been mounting your cockpit speakers? Thanks in advance. Bruce Neon Moon

Cool set-up for cockpit speakers!

A friend of mine has a H26 and he came up with the idea of mounting speakers under the cat-seats aft on his boat. I ran with his idea. I have a 40.5 and got a pair of the Bose environmental speakers(white) and mounted them there, routing the wires thru the stern rail. Since they are waterproof exposure is not a problem. If you don't have cat-seats, you could just hang them from the rail. It looks good and sounds great! This install gives better distribution of sound than speakers mounted near the sole, and requires no large holes to be drilled in the boat. In my situation,(like yours) I even get to mount small subs in the original holes for even better sound! We be Jammin'! Ron s/y Best Revenge
