Has any body replaced the dumb little hinges on there cockpit seat hatches with a long stainless piano hinge ?

Not the first time I've been heard to suggest this.
Thanks Stu , my hinges now slip down in the groove (water tough) I want to install a piano hinge on top of the hatch and on top of the fiberglass around the hatch
Catalina Direct sells really nice stainless hinges to replace the cheap originals. They are beefier, but they do replace the originals without drilling additional holes.
