Cockpit Room on C-25 ?

I am looking at a 1984 C-25, and I would like some opinions. First, the cockpit seems a little small and narrow to me, especially given the mainsheet/traveler set up. How have you all found this ? Second, the mainsheet/traveler setup looks to me like it would limit moving around in the cockpit when changing sides, especially if someone else is in the boat. The tiller can not be lifted up out of the way because it hits the traveler. It seemed awkward to me when I was on it in the slip, but I don't know. Thanks in advance !

Plenty of room

I haven't spent much time on one, but I found the C25 cockpit roomy for a 25 footer. Some substantially larger boats have smaller cockpits. I guess it depends on what you want though.

Cockpit room

I just bought a Catalina 25 and it has a smaller Cockpit(5.5ft seat) than my Venture 25(6.5ft seat), but I've gained more interior room. I just sold the Venture, but I know I will miss stretching out on those long cockpit seats of the Venture.

Cockpit Room

I have a 82 C25, and suggest the following to maximize cockpit space:1st, (easy) replace the nut on the bolt that secures the tiller to the rudder with a wing nut, and when you are not sailing, move the tiller above the mini traveller, and secure it to the mainsheet to keep the rudder from swinging. If this doesn't appeal, you can relocate the mainsheet itself to the forward end of the cockpit, using a suitable traveller track and car. The traveller doesn't impede entrance and egress to and from the cabin much, since there is already a stepover there, and the existing traveller can be removed completely. This option also makes it easier to mount such items as a barbueque, stern anchor, and dinghy outboard bracket on the stern rail since the mainsheet will no longer try to rip them off when gybeing.
