I have an 1985 Oday 28 and it has a manual bilge pump mounted on the bulkhead just aft of the wheel. I need to replace parts of it but can't make out the brand name. It's like none other that you can find in a marine store or West catalog. I've taken the face off there there seems to be a letter "K" raised on the surface. I'd appreciate any information any of you may have to identify it or, better yet, tell me where to obtain parts for it or a new one. Thanks JoeR "Soliloquy" Oday 28

That bilge pump was probably an add on.
Whale is the biggest manufacturer. The K may imply Kenyon but I did not know that they made a manual pump. If you disconnect the pump (probably four bolts/screws) the belly of the pump probably has the mfg and model #. My guess it is a whale pump. Whale makes many pumps and many parts are interchangable. The belly of the pump probably has Whale's phone #. r.w.landau

Thanks for your response. I believe the bilge pump is original equipment. The Oday 28 brochure states that a manual bilge pump in the cockpit is standard equipment. Mine looks old enough to be the original one. JoeR

JoeR, I have what looks like the same pump in the same spot on my 1985 O'Day 31. Don't know what it is but I'll try to remember to take a look at it when I'm down there this weekend and see if I can determine the make and model. I've been meaning to inspect it anyway.

Hi, Joe, I also have a 28 oday 85, I am looking in my owners manual in suppliers does your holding tank manual pump is the same type cover as the bilge pump the manual shows the holding tankpump was supplyied by Bosworth Co.Providence RI. it also listed bilge pumps by Raritan Eng. Co. Millville NJ. I have the same one as you have , I haven"t had this problem yet. I would call Rudy Nickerson of D & R Marine his phone 508-644-3001 he would know because he worked and knows all or most suppliers he was with oday for 20 years Good Luck Fred

My owners manual also lists the holding tanks as a Guzzler, and bilge pumps as Raritan Eng.Co in Millville, NJ 609 825 4900. Bosworth Co. (Guzzler) Providence,RI 401 438 8411

Didn't see any pics of the pump, but if you can't find any info on the pump that you have it may be a good idea to replace with a factory install????

Rich, the pic I posted is in Reply #5. Click on that thumbnail and it will enlarge the pic. If I can't find the exact same pump I will go with any of the other similar ones on the market. The trouble is that it will leave some extra holes in the place where it now sits. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Joe

guzzler I think
I have the same pump(looks the same) on my Oday 30. Mine is a Guzzler, according to the box of replacement parts I have. I have not been able to find the exact manufacturer, but have not done much research. I have a couple of sets of parts from the previous owner. But, my guess is guzzler. Wes Carroll
