Use a soft shackle through a Bimini top pad eye where you want the line.

If they are the round cockpit line holders, I think they are avail on this site at the SBO store.

If these were made in high quantities they would be much cheaper, but there isn't enough demand for that so they are machined by hand and if I recall correctly there are three processes involved in each one. The price is an extension of the cost.

Ok. Maybe a case of the chicken or the egg;)

If they were cheaper, you might sell a lot more!

It is what it is….they look nice.

Low quantity and custom made equals a high price. I have eight of them on my h40.5, and all are broken. 25 years of sun takes its toll.

I'm looking for an inexpensive alternative, but so far I am coming up empty.

I actually improved on the design by cutting the sides of the round button into a vee shape. I found that the securing lines don't slip off as easily and dump the coiled line.

I just learned to fake the lines and coil the tops so they hang on themselves.

Right now, I am using these 3M Command hook cord holders for 4 lines on each side of my cabin top.

You can see how they work in this photo…

A big advantage is that you Don’t need to put a screw into the friberglass.

The down sides are that the don’t last forever (UV is hard on them) and they need to replaced every few years. But the are Command Hooks, so they come off clean and are easily replaced. The other downside is they can’t hold more than about 4 or 5 coils of rope…so I can’t hold my mainsheet or my headsail furler line…to much rope.
For now, I am using a large Command hook, that I drilled a hole in, threaded a thin line through and tied in a loop. The loop is sized to hold the larger rope coil, and it hangs on the command hook. Sorry no photo of this…new change this year. Seems to work great, low cost, no extra holes in the fiberglass.

My other idea (which I haven’t tried yet), is to buy some knobs like this, mount them spaced out on a board that is cut to fit where all my command hooks are now, put a loop of cord on each one, and screw the boards (1 on each side) with 5 of these knobs on it. The board can be removed if any of the knobs crack or the cord breaks. Only 2 holes in the boat per side, and I bet it would be pretty maintenance free if you used starboard.

I just stocked up on 6 of the 3M cord holders, so I am good for this season if any break…so probably won’t try the knobs this year.

Good luck with a solution that fits your needs.

I just, by accident reading an old Pacific Yachting magazine, learned the name of what I described: it's called a Sea Gasket but without coiling the line around itself in the middle, just the flip & loop over the top.

OK, I went for the knob solution. I bought a bag of 2" diameter maple knobs and drilled, counter drilled to match the original design. Bought some longer screws for mounting.
I put two coats of West System epoxy on the knobs and mounted them with new loop lines. The line length was 35" before making the loop. Passed the end of the loop over the standing part and then onto the knob. The lines are held with the standing part of the loop line and the end of the loop passed over the knob.

They look like they will work. My originals were all broken after 25 years.
