We have a 2005 Hunter 45 CC, and are looking for some LED cockpit lights. Since the boat is a Center Cockpit, the cockpit is large, and we have a full enclosure, so the lights could be mounted on one or more of the enclosures 1" diameter SS tubing. Ideally we would like to have combination white / red fixtures. Any help and or suggestions will be appreciated.

Our 1991 P42 came equipped with a cockpit and sun deck light fixtures. Both now have LED bulbs. These lights were built into the FRP sound box that Hunter mounted to the SS arch. Plenty of soft light at night when needed. Seldom used, but handy when needed.

Terry,
The SS arch on the new 45 CC's is actually aft of the actual cockpit, therefore the light that was built into the arch does not light up the cockpit at all.

try a couple of the water proof led strip lights that are attached with sticky back. I found multiple banks can be run using one controller. Very cheap and easy to install. I put them up on both sides of main cabin under the lip of the fixed windows. You can adjust color and intensity

A few years back I bought a Coleman lantern/"ceiling" fan. Two different down-lights, two speed down-fan. Runs on D batteries. The nice part is, it comes with a magnet that you can lay on fabric (bimini) then the lantern mates to it under the fabric- wherever you need it. The fan is a plus. Not sure where I bought it, but camping/RV store I'd guess.

Edit/update. After my coffee, the internet seems to be working better. http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Cool-Zephyr-Ceiling-Light/dp/B00168XMD2 , Coleman "Cool Zephyr Ceiling fan with light" $24.99

Slipin Away,
I have the same Hunter 45 CC that you have. If I remember right you had a "Hard Cover" made for your cockpit, I think you posted pictures of it. On our 45 we just have a full canvas enclosure. What type of lights did you use when you added the hard cockpit cover?

Thanks,
Jeff

I installed an 18" LED light with a rocker switch for white and red lights. It is 12V. It really lights up the cockpit and is great for night passages.

Also look at the 'Mantus' site (they now make more than anchors). They just came out with a new puck light that is designed to attach to tubing.
