cockpit leak

My 1990 Hunter Legend 35.5 is leaking in the cockpit. The leak is through the screw holes that hold the deck insert that covers the steering cable drum with water leaking down the bulkhead in the aft stateroom. I suspect that I am not the only one who has encountered this problem and it looks like previous owners have tried to fix it by "gooping" up the screw holes. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good permanent fix? Thanks

They usually leak at the pedestal wires entering the hull and leak down the aft bulkhead. Had to really goop it up.

Stanchion screws leaked on mine,too.

Will inspect my cover screws tomorrow. Thx

Remove, clean & re-bed.
