Whats the problem?

That's where they are suppose to be? What problem are you having with them?

Did they stop draining?

Mike: You galley drain is under water, did it stop draining? The cockpit drains are under water, did they stop draining? If you are worried about the raw water cooling, that is what the alarm system is there for. If you turn off the raw water inlet, you can hear the difference between straight exhaust and raw water exhaust. We have had this configuration on our H'31 for 16 years, and it has served us well.

Good Question

I wouldn't worry about the exhaust but the scuppers are a joke. Combine the slow draining cockpit with the low bridge deck and you easily get a cabin full of water. During my pre purchase survey the surveyor suggested adding cockpit drains that were larger and flowed out the transom and raising the height of the companion way. I have only seem one h34 that made this change. I planned to do it myself but determied I wanted a stiffer vessel to go off shore.

Daryl

I can't defend the cockpit drains on the H34. But they work, albeit slowly. I found the problem with the drains is storage in the third world tropics. Vegetable matter (leaves) plug them up and then the cabin floods. Third world care takers don't have a clue and don't give a damn. (my bitch is on my web site. I try not to bitch here daryl) But water only entered the cockpit ONCE in ten years while at sea. It drained out in less than a minute. If your boat didn't have that flex Daryl maybe you would have gone out there to learn how well she would have done. Too bad. Yours is the only H34 I've heard of with that problem. (Photo #44 does my bitching.)
