cockpit drain scuppers

The cockpit drain scupper fittings on my O'day 28 are slighty higher than the drain trough in which they lay. As a result there is always a bit of water sloshing back and forth in the trough. I was on a boat last week ( I can't remember the model to save me) and the scupper fittings were flush with the floor. Kinda' like a funnel with threads on it. If anyone knows where these fittings can be obtained I am interested to get that tidbit of information. For some reason the boat type listed is for a 31 even though I selected 28. this has happened before so know this post is for a 28' boat. Thaks to all.

Scuppers

I just replaced the scupper hoses on my 1983 O'Day 28 and the deck fitting is recessed just below the cockpit deck by about 1/4 inch or so. Yours sounds like it's different from mine. My deck fittings are just ordinary through hulls. What year is your 28?

Scuppers

Can the 1980 be that different from the 1983? The deck fittings on my 28 are just 1" straight through hulls available almost anywhere including West Marine. I have no water accumulation problems on my cockpit deck. Sorry I can't help more.

Thanks Chuck

Chuck: Thanks for the info. I'll check with West Marine, etc. for a better scupper. "Better Scupper" sounds like it ought to be a brand name doesn't it? Regards, Mike S/B Pitterpat, Lake Huron
