We have gotten two sets of the Sunsure cushions, 1 for a Hunter 25 and 1 for our Hunter 28, I can't speak to the Bottomsiders but besides the quick response on the order once placed, we've been extremely happy with both sets. The fit was perfect, the white Sunsure fabric has been easy to maintain and clean and my tender tushy likes the firm feel of the cushions. Our dock neighbors are all jealous of the cushions and always ask where we got them.

We use the boat mostly on weekends so take the cushions in each Sunday and bring them out for the weekend. I usually keep them out while sailing and even without the supplied snaps (I choose not to install them) the cushions generally stay put on the nonskid seats.

For our next boat we'll definitely order another set.

Good luck

Both styles have been around for along time and have many happy customers.

The most obvious difference how they perform in wet weather. Bottomsiders have no cover so if they get wet, you just run a towel over the tops and they're dry. The other side of the coin is hot weather: The mesh covers of the Sunsure style allows the cushions to breath better in heat. Some people will put a towel over the vinyl Bottomsiders when it gets good and hot.

Bottomsiders are the norm up here in Seattle, where we see Sunsure as more popular in Florida. But to a great degree it's just personal preference.

The Bottom siders are highly rated.... but you may want to get a local upholsterer to give you a bid. My neighbor just installed a complete set of canvas from a local vendor... including canvas covered cushions... they come to the boat to measure and install for same price as an online/mail order company.

I spent some time on a Fla yacht that had vinyl cushions.. we could leave them in the rain but had to always cover them with towels. The mesh cover is like your lawn furniture, you can get it wet but it's harder to clean. Out here in So Cal.. I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference, but I would lean towards a canvas or mesh top cover with a vinyl bottom.

I've had a set of the Sunsure covered ones in So. Cal. for about 5 years, gray, I've never done more than wipe them down and they still look new. They don't absorb any rain so you can shake most of the water off and wipe them with a towel.

We're very happy with our Sunsure cushions here on Long Island Sound. You don't stick to them as you do with vinyl cushions.

I concur on the Sunsure....we bought white w/jockey red piping to match our sailcover about 7 years ago from Sailboat Owners.com and they are really comfortable and easy to care for...never hot, even in the Kansas sun.

Sun sure

I have the sunsure cushions since my H-36 was brand new first in NY
for about 2 years and since 08 here in Florida in very very hot and very very
wet and cool weather too and we love them.
