My first mate (wife) is determined that we should have cockpit cushions made to fit our Hunter 336. It’s a bit steep to buy the ones on the website and have them shipped to the UK due to import tax etc so we will have them made over here.
Does anyone have scale drawings or templates or do I have to get the tracing paper out?

Neil, I taped clear plastic to the top of the cockpit seats, then used a felt tip marker to outline the area where I wanted the cushions. After trimming the plastic I was able to use it as a pattern for the foam and material; adding extra width as needed for the hems. I would think a pro would have no problem using the outline in the same manner.

There is an outfit (n Texas I think) called C-Cushion. They make cushions with a plastic skin, like unexpanded foam. They have patterns for every boat I ever heard of. If you don't like the price of store bought cushions, you probably will not like the retail cost of foam.

Thanks Duke,
I guess that's the way I'll get it done.

Bill1565,
It's not the retail cost of cushions or foam which is putting me off, it's the 6000 mile shipping charge and related import taxes which are stopping me ordering the cushions direct.

I'll trace the outlines, order the foam and have it covered here in sunny Scotland.

All the best,
Neil
