I sail on the Chesapeake Bay and have had many questions from potential buyers about how the boat would handle as a coastal crusier or for a hop to the Bahamas or a tour down the Key. I'd like to hear from someone with experience. Secondly, as anyone been caught is a bad storm and had to wait it out offshore?

Bahamas cruising in a S25

I bought my S25 in the Bahamas in 1990 and sailed it around the islands for about 7 years. It handled the weather and seas very well for a small boat and I never worried about its ability. As with any boat you want to watch the weather and not put yourself in conditions that you shouldn't be in. When I left my job in the Bahamas I sailed the boat from Andros Island to Fort Lauderdale and when I left Bimini it was on the heels of a tropical depression, the seas were 6-7 with a whitecap on top and it was a long trip but the boat handled it very well.
