Hi: I have just purchased an Oday 37 lying in the keys. I want to document it with the Coast Guard as opposed to a state registration. I am looking for data relating to the "Application for Simplified Admeasurement" and the gross tonnage calculation shown to be 1/2(LBD/100). The lenght & breadth are no problem, but the depth is not the draft. If someone else has done this on a 37, the reference & info would be helpful. Thanks (Dick in St Pete)

Dick: Have you been to the USCG web site?? All of the documentation forms necessary to document a boat are on line. I'm not sure if what you are looking for is there, but there are also phone numbers that can be called for information. Luck with it!

Dick, you're probably up on this more than I am, but the best I remember, Florida doesn't recognize documentation. I'm pretty sure that if you keep a boat in Florida waters, I think more than 90 days, not sure about the time period, you are required to have Forida registration. You might want to check up on this if your not sure. Those Florida enforcement boys don't have much of a sense of humor. Luck again!
