I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience as mine, and has found a way to get relief. Specifically, my new 2005 Hunter 41 came equipped with 3 Costar Carbon Monoxide
Alarms (Model 12 Marine) manufactured by Quantum Group Inc. of San Diego CA. When I recently pressed the test buttons, I discovered that one of them failed the test. I wrote an email to the manufacturer but got no response. I wrote again but got no response. I wrote a third time and got a response -- perhaps because I suggested that I would take steps that they might view as unfavorable. The response said that the company had recently moved its location, and the email system had just gotten up and running. Hah! Although I believed I was still under warranty, I was told in a phone conversation that the warranty had expired, and all three monitors had basically reach the end of their lives. I still disagree with the warranty point, but I accepted their offer of obtaining three replacement monitors at a reduced price. To get this special deal, they required that I return the three monitors, which I did. However, when I called to find out the status of the replacements, they said that because of the move to the new location they had not yet gotten their credit card system functioning. Curious, yes? Well weeks have gone by at this point, and they have not responded to my further inquiries about the status of the replacements. They have also not responded to several email requests by me asking that they report on the status in writing. Any thoughts?
