I recently installed a Xintex CO Detector and wired it directly into one of my batteries. I have a year old Xantrex Trucharge 20 Plus charger. For the last two weeks when I have checked on the boat the charger was in "charge mode" rather than "ready". When I have disconneted the new CO Detector the problem goes away. I know the CO Detector has a slight draw, but not enough to cause the charger to revert to charge mode...right? Could the CO Detector be defective? It is fuse protected, and so far the fuse has not blown. What could be ocuring to cause this condition. I invested in a "smart charger" to prevent cooking of my batteries.

It's been a while

It's been awhile but I don't think that the Xintex is using that sort of amperage. I had to send one back for a different reason than your own,and the factory was really helpful. My advice would be to call Xintex and explain your installation and problem and see if their guys can come up with something. Once again, their support with my problem was fast and courteous. Hope they can help. Don

CO Problem

I contacted Xantrex and explained the situation. They suggested changing one of the settings on the charger. On the way to work I made the change and on the way home I stopped off to check and so far so good. I will keep a close eye on the Remote Panel to see if the condition re-occurs.
