Does anyone know a good source to purchase a spare cng tank. Going down the ICW we found supplies few and far apart. Would like to carry a spare tank this next trip. My supplier in Annapolis quoted me 400 and I passed. ThanksJohnnie Cake
I just spoke to a guy here in Southern California who supplies the local marinas about my desire to do the same. Out here CNG is done via a tank trade in similar to the Home Deot propane tank exchange program. He sells used tanks outright at 125.00 a piece (empty). If you wnat his number drop me an email at Alopez865@earthlink.net. I am hessitant to post his cell phone on the web.
You have someone right there in Panama City that will exchange your empty tank for a full one. Sailor Supply, 850-769-5007. I had a boat that used CNG up until about a year ago and made the trip down for a full one.
I saw one for a good price on eBay about 2 weeks ago. When I bought my spare CNG tank about 3 years ago, it cost me $200. I never saw it. It was supposedly put into the "tank pool".
Sorry, I didn't catch that you wanted an additional tank. I bought an additional tank from Sailor Supply that I just mentioned for $100. Give them a call, it took them about a week to find me one.
JohnnieTry this link http://www.corpbrothers.com/marine.htmI know when we bought a new cng stove several years ago we were shipped an enpty tank that we excanged for a full one.
