CNG tank -CNG soon to be available in Savannah GA

I was hoping someone who has replaced their CNG with Propane might have a CNG tank with current date available somewhere on the east coast from Baltimore to Jacksonville? I'm guessing shipping one that has been previously filled is not allowed. If so please pm me with details. I currently have CNG and would like to keep it. This isn't a debate on the pros and cons, just that I have it and would like to keep it if feasible.

I have found out that ENMARK in Savannah Georgia is planning on putting a CNG filling station in Savannah near the junction of I95 and US21. This is part of a Georgia grant program to encourage use of CNG in local delivery and commercial vehicles. Its not in yet but should be in by the coming fall.

I believe that as long as the tanks are emptied and the valves removed prior to shipping that it is acceptable to ship previously filled tanks. I presently have two, if your interested. email is metricmountie@hotmail.com

Before the prospects of a new CNG filling station in your area can translate into having CNG to fuel your stove a couple of things have to happen and considered. 1) You will need to acquire an adapter 2) verify that the filling station will authorize and it is lawful the use of such adapter 3) familiarize yourself with the proper use of such adapter. Do some planning before spending money on an adapter and tanks to insure that you can uses them. Do hear you, all that CNG out there and it is so hard to get a portable tank filled.

This may be a moot question: Can expired CNG Cylinders be re-certified? If yes then you could find a local shop that does hydro static testing and have them re-certify the tank. I used to do this with my scuba tanks for a fraction of what the dive shops used to charge.

My research into this is that the authorities that have jursidiction of such matters for CNG tanks DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE any way to recertify a tank. Seems a shame but that is what all the CNG sites say anyway.

I hear you Benny. There are several hoops to be jumped through but most except possibly for item 2 are manageable.

I have two cng tanks. One has been re-certified three times and the other one four times. I gave up on the lack of refilling stations and swapped out the cng system for propane. Any one want a stove, two tanks and regulator? Some $ will be required to acquire.
