I have a 86' Hunter 34' that has a cloth interior and am looking for some suggestions on removing and replacing the material with the latest covering being used on the newer boats. The newer material appears to be less of a "mold trap" and can be wiped down easier. Where are some places the material can be purchased?

US Yacht Cushions in Tampa

I bought an '85 H34. Best deal I found was the same people who had done the OEM work for Hunter on this model. They had all the original patterns and did the entire boat for about $1500. I'll pull the receipt tonight and post the contact info here. I also repped out the mold/mildew saturated carpet from all the vertical sufaces and replaced it with a closed-cell foam covered with Naugahide liner material from Sailrite.

I think Keith is asking about...

...the fabric on the hull walls, as opposed to the cushions. That I don't have an answer for. ph.

That was cheap carpeting

That "fabric" on my boat was just cheap carpet glued to the hull walls. I ripped it out and replaced it with Vinyl over a 1/2" foam pad. Took 2 weekends...messy, dirty job, but results are nice. You don't realize how filthy and moldy that carpet is until you remove it!

Scott, more details?

Did you write that you bought the unpadded vinyl from Sailrite? Then you glued on your own 1/2" foam padding? Can you provide some more detail, kind of padding and glue?

More on interior decorating an H34

The cushion vendor is: U.S. Yacht Cushions 4055 35th St. N. 6000 St. Petersburg, FL 33714 (727)528-9644 Cushions including fabric, foam: $1290 in 2000 The foam backing for the naugahyde walls is a closed cell foam I found at Menards (a local home store). It is intended for backing carpeting in wet/damp locations. It is about 1/2" thick. For glue I used a waterproof carpet adhesive also from the home store. Sorry, I can't recall the brand. Folded the vinyl over the foam edges and glued assembly to the walls. Used just the vinyl without the foam in the main salon and vanity areas. Vinyl is Naugasoft; Sailrite #51006 @ $14/yd...bought too much, can't find receipt or I'd tell you how much to buy...sorry.
