I have an 84' 222. I recently replaced my fore stay and as it turns out it's a tad short. When I step the mast at the begining of the season the foward shackle comes up about an 1/8" short , even with my three boys yanking on the stay. My turn buckles are at the extream. My question is has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do ? I'm hoping ther is some sort of spacer or bracket that can make up the differents. Any ideas?

Check your stays and make sure the cables arn't tweaked at the top. Loosen your back stay. If all is ok try attaching your jib halyard to the to your anchor cleat or elswhere. Pull it tight, then pull it sideways with your body or knee. This should pull your mast enough to attach it. If you do this regularly get a Johnson leaver, makes things so much easier.
