Close up your floor hatches!

Hello Fellow Sailors:

I broke my cardinal rule over the weekend. I left a floor hatch open to dry out my bilge. One minute later I backed into the hole in the floor and was injured. I fell on my air conditioning unit and broke my pump spout which immediately started spewing 1000 gph of water all over my boat and myself. I busted up my body a little but I also took a hit to my pride and my wallet. Don't repeat my mistake!
