Hi Selwin - If it was as easy as sailing at a certain angle all the time, we wouldn't have as much fun trying to outsail the other boat, now would we? Wind strength will help determine the best angle of attack, but you may need to travel down to avoid being overpowered. Outhaul will also play a role, a fuller sail giving you more power, but at the expense of upwind direction. You may get a better answer than mine here, but the best way to maximize your boat is to experiment in different conditions and develop basic rules of thumb as a baseline. Then break those rules when you're playing around to come up with better ones! Have fun out there! Trevor
