Tried unsuccessfully to find this in the archives...sorry. One of my fresh water tank vents is clogged (water pressure is low and when opening deck fill, air rushes in). What's the best way to un-clog it? Disconnect the hose from the tank and snake it? thanks. Steph

Easiest solution:

Replace the vent line....5/8" hose is cheap.

Back flush it

Take the fill port cap off. Get in the dingy and blast the vent with a water hose.

thanks

thanks for the suggestions. changing the line seems to be the best but am worried about getting to the inside of the vent port (behind the settee?) but will try it. Thanks.

Vent Line

Since it is your fresh water system, you can be pretty sure something has built a nest. I wouldn't try cleaning the vent with a hose from the outside, that would force what ever it is into your water system. Try loosening the plug up a bit with some wire then filling your tank. I know on my C34 I can get a good stream of water out of each vent by overfilling the tank.
