It is a NASA Marine product from Great Britain( http://www.nasamarine.com/products.php?cat=15 ). We have a couple of Limeys here on the board. Maybe one of them can shed some light. You are right, the products are priced better than maybe all the competitors.

I have no experience with a Clipper Wind Instrument. However, this week I installed a TackTick wireless wind speed/direction meter. It was relatively low cost and easy to install.

I've been curious about themm myself. I have a Catalina 25 WB that needs wind and depth but I just can't get interested in spending the money for Raymarine. Clipper was at Annapolis in October in an awkward spot on Ego Alley across from where Island Packet displays. They had only mock-ups so I couldn't even touch and feel. They look OK but I'm not sure I want to play Guinea Pig.
