Hey Guys,Haven't posted in a while. I hope everyone is having a great winter. Quick question: I just ordered a new main from my local sail loft. I told them I do some racing & asked for a large roach & loose foot which they're going to put into the new sail. They also suggested that they put in a strap to attach the clew to the boom instead of a slide or slug. The outhaul will still be there to take the brunt of the load, but he said that many racers use a strap instead of a slide to avoid point loading on a loose foot and to make the outhaul adjustments slide easier.I've never heard of such a set up & I'm wondering if anyone here has. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or not?? I really trust these guys, but I have NO IDEA what they're talking about. Thanks,Allen Schweitzers/v FalstaffC-30 Hull# 632
