Cleat piece

Hi all.
Vega cleats are three pieces. Two weird shaped mounts and a hunk of
wood. I'm missing one of the weird mounting pieces. Anyone have a
spare or know where to find one? Unlikely no doubt but this is the
place to ask.

I might yet find the missing piece. I'm still sorting through the
1000's of pounds of junk left aboard my new baby. I'm amazed by all
the crap people leave aboard sailboats. Anyway, pictures soon to come.

Cheers,
Andy

Andy,
The "weird shaped mounts" (called Bollards!!) are marketed in Europe by
Plastimo under part number 13789. You can also obtain the complete cleat
under reference 13787. The nearest agent I can find to you is unfortunately
in Canada:- VREDBAND IMPORT INC., tel (450) 668 3111 or e-mail
bomon@....
My catalogue is a few years out of date so I can't absolutely guarantee the
authenticity of this information, there might even be an outlet in the US by
now. If you still find yourself stuck for one of these items I have several
stored somewhere although they would benefit from the chrome plating (what's
left) being stripped and redone.

Andy,
In addition to Frank's message on the cleats: Plastimo has an online
catalogue in which the Vega-type cleat is still listed under reference
13787. See:
There is also a Plastimo USA website at:
http://www.plastimousa.com/index.htm so I guess it should be possible to get
these things in the US.
