Arrived in Clearwater this morning, after a three doy hop across the gulf from New Orleans. Biggest problem of the entire trip was getting under the Danzinger bridge in the Industrial Canal. Left Sunday morning, and seas were a little sloppy all day amd into Monday morming, then calmed down. And as is usual, ask for calmer water, you get more than you ask for. Monday night and Tuesday were basically dead calm, and were mostly spent under the iron genny. We had to slow down some to get into here after daylight and on a high tide.
Overall a super nice trip.

Except for having to motor more than you'd like, nice and easy! ;)

Danzinger bridge

There isn't a thing wrong with the bridge itself. But the bridge operators, that's a different story. We have had problems getting through there in the past. So this time we called on the phone Sat. night and told them when we would be there, and basically made an appt. for Sun. morning. Sunday morning get on the radio, call the bridge, dead silence. Ended up calling on the phone, got a supervisor who finally came out and we got through. The original scheduled time was 8:15. Finally managed to get under at 9:15. A while back I ended up anchoring in the lake for the night because I couldn't raise anyone to open the Seabrook bridge. Would not have gone that way, but the boat was in Seabrook Harbor for a bottom job, so the choices were few.
