There is a modest Sunset celebration at Pier 60, with craft vendors. I don't remember what day, maybe everyday. Except for the seasonal crowds, Clearwater Beach has the nicest beach I've seen anywhere. As a kid I would walk all the way around the island of Clearwater Beach. It was always a very pleasant time for me. Hurricane Pass, on the North end, is less populated and very pretty. Caladesi Island use to be connected until a hurricane in the 50s cut the pass.
My father use to own the Double Eagle head boats. Clark Mills built the #II They are the large red white and blue catamarans at the municipal marina. They are fun, but expensive for a 1/2 day or full, of grouper fishing. The dolphin who starred in 'A Dolphin's Tale' with the prosthetic tail, lives at the marina, or use to.
The South end leads over to Indian Rocks Estates. The Causeway to the mainland also has Ross Marina connected to it. They use to have a decent chandlery. It has been a long time, a lot has changed there.
