Cleaning the prop

I read in Sail Magazine that the prop blades should be nice and shiney. OK, I will try. I have to no avail. The prop looks worse now than before I started. Anyone tried to clean their prop?

use a drill and a nylon wheel (available at hardware store/home depot) too buff the prop it will come out like new !

Then what?

After you polish an aluminum prop, do you leave it that way? Or should you treat it somehow?
