Being on a lake in Oklahoma

and not really having any substancial growth problem to worry about. I get slime. I use a squeegee on a long handle while at anchor, along with a suction cup for my hand hold. Seems to be working. Two years now. Saves the paint too! I'm not into speed, just not wanting the bottom to be green when I painted it redish/orange. And not wanting the slime to hang around the water line while at the dock. It doesn't look so good and I don't like it on the dock, never mind on my boat. Keep it up, Ctskip

The companys that clean the bottoms at my marina clean with a snorkel along water line then switch to their tanks. The tanks are on the dock straped to a hand truck. They use probally a 50' hose that goes to the tank.

Stray Currents and Diving

I have always been worried about the stray currents. How do you guys determine if it's safe to go in the water? I am a PADI instructor and I cannot convince myself that going under a boat in a marina with electricity at the docks is a wise decision. What kind of precautions do you guys take to assure your safety?

multimeter

you can measure stray currents in the water with a multimeter on the voltmeter setting. One probe goes in the ground plug at the dock power outlet and the other to the water. The setup I saw had a large silver probe attached to a standard multimeter. Check both AC and DC voltage.
