anyone have any ideas to offer? I have spots of hardened wax, spilt from a candle, in fairly old and pitted non-skid. Nothing I've tried so far removes it.

Brown Paper!

On textiles place heavy quality brown paper on top of the wax and then simply iron over the top. The heat melts the wax and the brown paper soaks it up. An electric iron would be too fierce a heat for the non-skid, but a hair dryer could achieve the same result. Good Luck

Hiar dryer or a heat gun is the answer

Warm it up a little and wipe off with a cloth.

Nope...just the opposite: Ice

Put ice on the wax and it'll lift right off. It works...honest. Even works on cloth.
