This boat is knocking on 40 yrs old and the interior is still in great shape. However, there are areas where hands normally grab, the countertop fiddles, and stove surrounds are dirty. The fiddles are routered so they have a shape (no sanding). I was looking at the worst spot on the chart table corner which is very dirty. Its where the right hand lands when climbing out of the quarter berth. Then I looked at the can of acetone on the counter..Hmm I wonder..So tried a little dab and amazingly the spot cleaned up perfectly. Yes, it also took some oils out of it. Tomorrow, will try a little Seafin on that spot. Has anybody done this before? Could it be that easy?

Had a similar issue, used Murphy's Oil soap. Worked well.

Near the stove there was a build up grease and crud, used Denaturated Alcohol, it worked well. At home we use isopropyl alcohol to clean the counter and stove top.

Because Murphy's allegedly restores some of the woods natural oils, I would tend favor it over the more aggressive solvents.
