And how do we sand it???

We need to change the color of the deck-- it's factory-original medium blue but it makes me sick. What's the best way to take down paint with nonskid grit added in so that it can be repainted? JC

Yes & No

Yes on the non-skid. No on the slippery Remember, it is not a wax; ergo it will not make it slippery!

the manufactures of poly-glo

also make some stuff that you can use on your non-skid. I have a 74 and it seemed to put a little life back into it. It definitely looks better and isnt any slippier than it was before using it.But my non-skid is pretty old. Again, it does look better.

Island Girl Products

Check out the Islalnd Girl (IG) products in the chandlery. I just finished cleaning and waxing the hull of my '86 272 with IG Pink and Superwax. The hull looks almost new. If you try it, you will be very pleased with the results. It'll knock your socks off when you're done!! If you are looking for a way to clean the non-skid, get the non-skid kit from IG. I am in the process of doing my non-skid right now. I went over the non-skid areas and treated all the Cetol drips and other obnoxious spots with undiluted IG pink. Next I will wash all the non-skid areas with a diluted solution of IG pink. Then I will apply the non-skid sealer. I used it last season on the companionway cover and forward deck area with excellent results. It produces a satin gloss and excellent grip. It is still in place from last season, and I will now do all the non-skid on the boat. Great products found right here. Tom

I have another reason

Poly Glow is my favorite secret ingredient to apply sunshine to my hull. It looks good and remains good all season long. What happens when it is applied to the non-skid? Remember, the non-skid area is the deck of the boat. There you are, sailing into the sunset, and what would you get? Maximum glare off the non-skid, made nice and reflective by the Poly Glow. I had repainted the non-skid on my H33 a few years ago, and used Interlux BriteSide paint. I had to use a flattening agent to keep the glare down. I haven't tried the Poly Glow non-skid, and wonder if anybody else has used it?
