After scrubbing all the growth off my bronze prop I then applied some WD-40 and scrubbed it in with a fine graded emery cloth. It did a nice job of pulling out a little more ground in dirt to give it a nice bronze finish. It wasn't perfect but it looked better than it did the prior sping when I did not use the WD-40 as the final step. Try it hopefully you will have the same result.

Interesting

Last year I did not 'polish' my prop as much as I usually do. I noticed at the end of the season that I had considerably more growth than in years past. This may be coincidental but I sure polished my prop better this year. My theory is a smoother surface gives the little buggers less of a purchase to get started.
