I was looking at my lifelines and know they need a good going over. In the past I always went over them with a cleaner/wax and a lot of elbow grease. There has to be a better way. Any thoughts? Dave

Whitewall (tire) cleaner

Lots of posts on here about using the stuff on lifelines. I did it last year for the first time and was very pleased with the outcome. You can get it at Kmart or any of those places.

Sea Glow makes them white

If you already have the product for other uses (gelcoat, inflatables etc) you will find that Sea glow will clean off the yellow and whiten the plastic. You do need to seal the surface afterwards. I have been doing this and demonstrating this for almost 8 years now! Thanks Jim W

Mark Kate?

I thought Mary Kate was an acid based product? That won't damage anything?

Island Girl...

Island Girl works great, gives you really bright lifelines, dorades, fenders, etc. Doesn't take too much elbow grease either!

MaryKate has different products.

Dave: MaryKate has many different products, not all of them are acids.

lifelines

Dave; I clean my lifelines with a nylon scrubber and a weak bleach solution, then go over them with SeaPower to seal them. Lasts about a year.
