Dear forum, I am trying to clean water stains from a vinyl sail. Also trying to clean general grime from the boat itself. Does anyone have any suggestions about the sails? Regular cleaners cannot remove the stains and I'm thinking of trying to bleach it. Is this a no-no? I'm also thinking of power washing the boat itself. Any Advice?? Thank you

Hey There Shawn, Be really carefull of what you use on your sails bud. Ordinary laundry soaps, and also maybe bleach, can tear down the coating on the dacron, on your sails. I have always bought regular Sail Bath, Sail Bleach, and Sail Spot remover. Power washing your boat should be OK. I just finished rubbing out my hull (O'Day 23) with 3M Rubbing Compound, and I waxed it with NuFinish, for cars. I've used NuFinish for years and have always had good luck with it ........ and it holds up pretty much all year. Hope this helps ......
