Cleaning cushions

We have an upholstered cushion on our boat that needs to be cleaned. I have tried multiple home-use products with no success (I think I may have made it worse!). The cushion 26"x29". The material is sewn to the foam cushion and can't be removed. I contacted a professional cleaning service and was quoted $250!! . Has anyone had success cleaning a cushion for a reasonable price?

Have you tried renting a carpet/upholstery cleaner? We clean all the boat cushions that way every year.
