If you're talking about
stains on the deck, I scrub the area with Simple Green and a STIFF deck brush. After rinsing and allowing the area to dry I inspect for residual stains and squirt each stain (spider poop, bird droppings, etc.) with a 50/50 solution of Clorox and water. I apply EXACTLY enough to cover the stain and allow the bleach to work it's magic. No need to rinse and the stain is usually completely gone after the solution evaporates. I want to stress that the stuff need be used sparingly as a little goes a long way. This is my simple fix. There are probably others which work as well and cost more or require plenty of elbow grease. Avoid getting this solution on running rigging, dock lines, Sunbrella etc. I frankly don't know what the effect of bleach would be on these materials.
