Clean the sink

My boat has double sinks, kind of like bar sinks. I have the house bank off center on the port side, and as a result have a tiny bit of list. Not enough to be hardly noticable, but water knows. The sinks had become slightly stained where a liittle water stands. No amount of scrubbing would get rid of it, even with a copper scrubber. But I found a solution. 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper, a little elbow grease, and they look like new.

Soft Scrub, Barkeepers Friend, Prism...

The list goes on.

Did you try those?

How long did it sit?

Water

Unless I dry it out, a tiny bit of water sits till it evaporates. I think it was mostly coffee, as I have a habit of pouring the last of a cup into the sink, when making a fresh one, I drink a lot of coffee. And yeah, I tried just about everything. Spent several days, 15 minutes here, 15 there, but it now again looks good.

Hard to find

Some things are hard to find in a small town. 1500 grit sandpaper is as close as Ace Hardware.
And it works good.

Matter of fact

We do have most of the modern conveniences, including a post office, but the Ace store is much closer. And faster. :)

Re: Matter of fact

Cruising the ICW we found Ace Hardware well supplied with boating supplies, I bet they could order some stuff for you.

Sounds like work to do over and over. Sponging it off would be less work. Or better yet, if the list is minimal, while there is some residual liquid in the sink, try moving some stuff to the other side so see if it will drain. Sometimes just moving the boom end to the rail does it.

That is good 1500 grade sand paper is no more abrasive than some of those paste cleaners.
