Clean the luff track on mast

HI,

While the mast is down should I do anything to the luff track of the mast. What is the best method of cleaning the track to produce easy passage for the sail? I will use a cleaner and wax on the exterior of the mast. Any hints toward a clean and well lubricated luff track??

Since the mast is down, cleaning the track should be a snap. Just just a soft bristled brush (so that the strands can get into the corners of the track) and mild soap+water. Rinse well, let dry - or use a hair dryer if you're in a hurry - and apply some Sailkote. It is a spray on that drys leaving a coating of lubricant that doesn't attract dirt & stuff like oils or WD-40 or silicon sprays. Your main should fly up & down when your done.
