On a 1980 Hunter 27 What is the last switch on the bottom of the electrical panel? I think it is the switch for the ship-to-shore power but what is it called and what does it do? My ship-to-shore power makes it to the switch but the juice doesnt flow past it. On it is a red button for reversed polarity? It's not my bag of tea.

Shore Power it is

You are right, it is shore power and if on, you should get power to the internal 120 outlets. If you don't get power past it, make sure your shore power receptical and shore power cords are wired with the white wires going to the wider slot on the recepticals. It isn't rocket science, any electrical handy person can check it using a continuity tester. When not connected to shore power that is.

shore power

The bottom switch is for your shore power. I just re-wired my '78 H-27 completely and found that the original receptical for the shore power cord was in pretty sad shape. It worked sometimes, others, it didn't, so I replaced it with Marinco fixture. Now, works like a charm. But if you have any problems getting the 120 to work, check that the switch is in the on position, and if so and still no power, replace the receptical.
