Chrysler 26 Pymatuning Lake
Hi,
There are a few things I would like to do to complete my 1978 Chrysler 26 restoration. Here is a video I made of the work thus far.

The work I would like to do at the end of the season if to do the following:

1. Take off the old ablative paint and repaint the bottom
2. Replace the swing keel cable.
3. Replace the swing keel pivot point hinge.

Are these things I should get done at a shipyard? Anyone have recommendations for one in the Erie PA area? I have the boat on a trailer and cannot get to the swing keel cable very easily.

Thanks!

These tasks can fall into the DIY category.

To remove the ablative bottom paint, first pressure wash the bottom. That will take a lot off. Then buy lots of 40 grit sandpaper and PPE. Start sanding with a dust collecting system attached to the sander.

Once the paint is off, you'll need to consider a barrier coat or renewing the existing barrier coat.

The centerboard projects may require the assistance of the yard if the boat has to be lifted to run and connect he cable.
